Through it all, we like to stick to three simple pillars — here are just a few examples of how they come to life.
Solution Creative solutions to whatever comes our way
We worked with a landowner to build a laydown yard on his property – that’s where we keep materials and equipment during construction. He was excited to have the yard and planned to keep it with all the gravel after construction. His religion prohibited him from buying power equipment, but would allow him to receive it as a gift. So in lieu of a direct payment, he was interested in receiving a skid loader. After a few extra steps, we made the solution work. He got his skid loader, we had the perfect location for a laydown yard and everyone was happy with the solution.
Solution We’re all in it together
We were working through the permitting process with a fully engaged community that we had worked with for over a year. Some naysayers showed up at various public meetings in an attempt to stop the project. Because of the relationships we had built with the local community, the landowners got up and spoke for the project with heart and ownership. The project was ultimately approved and was widely celebrated for its success.
Solution The right solution at the right time
Project design matters. We work to achieve the RIGHT design that checks ALL the boxes for every project—from ensuring high energy production, to meeting permit and environmental standards, to protecting crop farming practices. A PRC Wind constructed project in southern Minnesota demonstrates these practices so well and was highlighted on the cover of the American Wind Energy Association calendar in 2008. Note that almost all roads are on property lines ensuring that the ‘combines in the sky’ don’t disrupt the combines on the ground!
